Boy! Updating the site took much long than I expected. I started before Christmas and thought it would take just a few days. Working with CSS and different browsers can be a pain.
I mostly changed just the look of the site. With the exception of the log-in area, it was mostly a change in the CSS file.
When I showed the new site design to my wife, she thought it looked pretty much like the old one. Oh well, at least I think it looks better.
I also updated from MySQL4 to MySQL5 so my database is on a new server now.

Has it really been 3 years? It seems like only yesterday that I started advertising on RentVine.
I like the Look. Yes, your wife is right that at first glance it looks similar, which is a comforting thing to users as people don’t like change, at least not much change. And you are so right, even a small coding change can end up taking so much longer than expected.
Thanks Wendy. The idea of RentVine started 3 years ago, however the site didn’t go online until April of 2005 I believe.
Even though the changes appear small a lot of code got changed.
The site is about 100 pixels wider the pages are about 20k larger.
Dave,
How do you like the MySQL5 DB?

It seems to be working fine. No speed change at all.
