Brief History How RentClicks Has Evolved Into Rentals.com

Way back over five years ago RentClicks bought an amazing advantage. When RentClicks first started out they purchased a web application called ScriptMate Classifieds for $149 dollars that powered the backend of the RentClicks site.

$149 is really cheap! I spent almost a full year developing my site by hand. Believe me I thought very hard about purchasing the same backend (where you create, edit, upload, delete ads) but I am a Coldfusion guy and knew nothing of ASP.

I even talked with the programmer at ScriptMate a couple of years ago and he told me that RentClicks was paying him a little bit on the side to do some custom changes to it and I could have the same treatment at like– $90 a hour.

After some time, the RentClicks backend looked less and less like ScriptMate and more like a unique application as the RentClicks team made it in to what the property managers wanted.

I bring this all up because Rentals.com Beta is using RentClicks backend now. This totally makes sense because it has a better backend than HomeRentalAds and RentalHouses in my opinion.
