Wow, HomeAway.com must be doing pretty well to afford one of those Super Bowl commercials.

We can’t tell you what will be in the Super Bowl ad, but we think you’ll like it. Stay tuned for more details. Who knows, the HomeAway Super Bowl ad might be good enough to join the Wikipedia list of notable Super Bowl commercials.

HomeAway.com started spending some of that $250 million in financing. They acquired European vacation rental site, Homelidays.com.

The vacation rental market doesn’t seem to be affected by this down economy. Perhaps they saw it as an opportunity to acquire other sites at a cheaper price.

HomeAway does not normally 301 a purchaced site back in to HomeAway, lets see if they do it this time.
