I thought it might be good of me to point out a post from Rentals.com Director of SEO John Sherrod about my paid links comedy video.

Dave, I read John’s blog yesterday and saw a “discussion” between you and John, but now all the comments are gone - what happened?

You are right, all the comments are gone!

I thought I was being nice. I introduce myself and told him that I would enjoy meeting him sometime (which I still do).

I then gave him my view point on paid links.

Then I asked him if he was the one that created the PPP campaign in mid July or if someone else at rentals.com started it.

Then I told him that I had a lot of respect for rentals.com and asked him how many people work under him.

I don’t think it is my place to paraphrase what he wrote back since he has now taken the comments down.

Yep, I could use some yoga, propertygal. And Robbie, any references I made to “gigantic wad of rat poo” should be considered a joke. I thought it was funny, actually. To Dave’s credit, he just picks and pokes, no name calling.
Yes, I deleted the comments. It was quickly becoming a Q&A about Rentals.com and I stated many times that I wanted to keep that work/play separation intact.
I do have one request, Dave. If there is a video pending, could you cast me as Chris Matthews and Robbie as Zell Miller?
And Congrats on getting to the top of the pile today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sorry for asking to many questions on your blog, I can’t help myself - I am always interested in what my top competitors are doing.

No more comedy videos for a while. However I am thinking of doing some other work in video soon. Perhaps adding video tours to my site and some other stuff.

I guess we all could use some yoga :)

But I gotta ask…..What is rentals.com thinking behind all of these redirects? It sure has puzzled me everyday.

Any thoughts would be great! And what happened to my congrats for the top of the pile in my market?
