If Microsoft will buy yahoo than they will keep their both search engines different but same database will be used in both search results......So SEOs dont have to optimized the site for both search engines.... And also i think it will not make any effect on Google because Google has its own unique identity and brand in the search market....

I have no idea what M$ is thinking.

I am hoping that they won't let the deal go through.

If Yahoo is bought by Microsoft, would they merge it with their search engine or run it as a separate entity? Or maybe they will run it side by side for awhile (like rentclicks, rentals, etc.) and then move it all into one after awhile. I agree that competition is a good thing as it gives people choices.
