I noticed today the NARPM Official Partner logo now links to the Rentals.com site and not RentClicks anymore.
I am not sure if it had anything to do with this post or the email I sent to Organization Management Group (one of the firms that controls the NARPM site) about it not being a very good user experience.
So this will be interesting to watch what will happen with this change. My prediction is that RentClicks will fall in the ranking and Rentals.com will move up in the rankings.
A link from the NARPM home page is huge. Think of it this way - pretty much all NARPM member web sites link to NARPM which creates the huge ring of trust for NARPM - well when NARPM links out to someone from their home page that trust is passed along to the linked site giving them higher rankings.
I will report back in a few weeks or so to see what happens to RentClicks in the rankings - it will be interesting to see RentClicks slide in the rankings. Perhaps we will witness the end of the RentClicks domination in the Google rankings.
Perhaps we will see if that link is worth $15K a year. My guess is it is worth it.

I’ll be interestested in seeing where Rentclicks does move in time with the change. I know that their goal was to move Rentals.com up the ladder but I’m sure they don’t want to let their other sites fall.
I think it might be fun to watch RentClicks fall from its high position - it also might open a few doors for sites like mine.
I see rentals.com moving up and rentclicks falling just like you Dave…..But I think rentclicks will still get most of the deverted traffic from rentals.com for home rentals still….All there links on rentals.com point to rentclicks for single family homes…Your right, It will be Interesting to see what happens.
Rentclicks has been falling badly in the rankings on Alexa for some time now. Their listings have been dropping in their major markets moving into Spring when you would expect them to be going up!
The day that you go to post a home rental on Rentals.com and it does not redirect you to Rentclicks is the day CSI really starts pushing Rentals.com as their flagship site…….and the beginning of the end for Rentclicks and Rentalhouses.
Just looked at the Rentals.com site. They still take you to Rentclicks to post a home rental. There is a mistake on their ad copy regrading their”family ” that I saw over a month ago. It is still there.
Rentals.com ad copy:
At Rentals.com, we understand the marketing challenges today’s rental property owners and managers are facing. That’s why we’ve applied over 31 years of experience and extensive research toward developing the world’s most comprehensive real estate rental site, with nearly 45,000 listings making up not only the largest but also the most diverse inventory of rental properties in one place.
Then they redirect you to Rentclicks and if you do not chose to be on the family of sites and pay $79.00 a listing you are not even on Rentals.com!
You would think that Rentclicks listings would be increasing from the feeds from another site….not decreasing!
It is interesting that apartments are also fed into rentclicks and not their other site”apartmentguide” that is the blacksheep of the family!

This didn’t come across very well but you can go to Alexa.com and take a look.
Dave you should post a weekly Alexa/Quantcast for yourself and your competition .
