None of those domain names are TLD’s.

The other post he blogged about was the luxury real estate website for sale on Ebay.

The guy claims to make 50k a year, He is asking 149k for it. Now, If this site really makes 50K per year than who knows what is is worth on the market??

I think the point http://www.superhomerentals.com is trying to make is
what is a website worth ? Some of these guys buy a domain name for lets say $100.00 dollars then they think it is worth $50,000.00 dollars
the guy who owns http://www.superhomerentals.com does not own the items for sale he lists on his blog some times real estate websites that are for sale and their prices. The point I am trying to make is what really makes a website worth that much ,marketing ,word of mouth , ranking .Why I posted it on here was to show what Dave was taliking about in the video about picking a name for your website

Liz,

I understand what your saying.

Here is a great article on “How to value a domain name”
http://ezinearticles.com/?How-To-Value-A-Domain-Name&id=883443

The article does not mention much about what an actual website is worth. But IMO if a website is generating 3,4,5k a month in “real” income then it will surely be worth pretty good money if the owner wants to sell. As long as he/she could prove the income, the website is established and has a proven record in revenue and website traffic over a period of at least two years.

Maybe someone here can shed some light?

Dave,

This is a great addition to your blog. Thanks for sharing this information and for answering so many of my questions when I was setting up my website last fall. It still needs a lot of work, but it comes up high in the search engines when people type in things like “Louisville Cornhole” or “Cornhole Tournaments in Louisville”, etc.

That’s due to the suggestions that you offered.

Thanks!

Andy (www.DerbyCityCornhole.com)

The link structure TO your domain, and its power for valuable keywords in the search engines, is what will increase the value of the domain.
