Rent – and the Search Engines

Just for kicks I decided to see how the word Rent is handle by the major search engines.

Google:

Before I did the search I guessed that I would see see a lot of sites about housing rentals, car rentals and movie rentals. I forgot about the musical Rent which really dominated the search pages on all the search engines.

What can we learn from this exercise? Not much really since the word rent is way to broad and no one in their right mind word waste their time trying to be #1 for that one word. But still it is interesting because it reveals a little about each search engine.

I give Yahoo credit for putting in a good mix of results that I was expecting, while Google and MSN did a poor job at this.
