Dave,

They think the listings will “magically appear” from their members. It doesn’t work that way…..believe me!Even at an all you can eat price….you have to prod and pull PM’s to do…..anything!!!

Dave,

If I was any of the major rental sites that have been ponying up big bucks as a sponsor of NARPM…..and they started their own site to compete against me….I would tell them either to kill their site….or we kill our support….they pay for that convention in Hawaii!

If they are not done with the site by now and have spent over $200k on it, my guess is when they introduced it in Scottsdale nothing on the site was started and they were fishing to see what the reception would be.

Why would Rentals and Rentalhomesplus support them?

200k….what a joke!

All I know is that rentals.com was talking with them before NARPM and MyNewPlace has signed on with them.

200k????

Geezz!!! Are they hiring?

Lets qualify “MyNewPlace has signed on with them”.

We have talked with the dev team in charge of building RentalHomePros to get a gauge where they are at, and what we should expect in terms of functionality. This is a huge undertaking by NARPM as they are a volunteer organization of property managers. Building websites, or even finding the right team to build an API is not their specialty. But NARPM has some motivated people, so it can be done. 1st quarter is definitely agressive. We can’t judge a product until we see it, so the jury is still out whether the 200k is well spent…

Oops! Sorry Matt, I apologize.

I like to poke fun at RentalHomePros, so I am happy to hear that no one has officially signed up with them yet.

Looks like they have opened the website

Is it me or am I blind?

If I own a property and want to advertise it….How much? That is the question that stands in my mind.

The site directs you to this page to sign up first before you can see pricing. I would not give anyone my info before i know how much it is going to cost me.

someone correct me if I am wrong.

Wow, the site is live.

I have already found one asp error within just a few minutes, looks like they are in beta still.

Robbie said in April 9th, 2008 at 3:27 pm

They took it back off-line.

He…He!

Dave Dugdale said in April 9th, 2008 at 3:30 pm

Perhaps they saw our comments here. he…he.

That is what I was thinking :)

Dave Dugdale said in April 10th, 2008 at 6:02 pm

I am guessing it was not supposed to go live when it did because of the errors. I am guessing beta is going to take them a while longer.

Robbie said in April 10th, 2008 at 8:18 pm

Yesterday you could still get past the index page if you knew the secret :) today it did not work. :)

Before RentalHomePros site said:
Public Release in the 1st Quarter of 2008!

Now it says:
Public Release in June, 2008!

Oops, looks like they are falling behind.

I wonder if any NARPM top members are getting a little nervous that their over $200K investment might be in trouble?

So what is the slow down? I will guess that Epic River (the company creating the site) has one guy working on the site part time.
