Appreciate your comments. I agree completely with what you’ve said. the dot com of rentalhouses sold for 80k recently. i know that doesn’t mean that much but a big company was prepared to develop the name.
Might be kind of neat to start up a UK version on my site and buy his UK TLD domain.
Who knows maybe he is right, but I am pretty sure that Rob Massey bought that domain years ago. Perhaps we can get Rob to comment on this.

when we bought http://www.superhomerentals.com i found out just typing in a domain name does not bring it up to the search engine – when i type it in some times i am number one on google -super home rentals – superhome rentals -and of course superhomerentals as we were a rental home company for the super bowl when it was here in jacksonville fl we get a lot of people who use the tags “super home rental” in (some town) i would like your take on this as i know robbie must have some problems with people using “first coast rentals” as when i type him in he comes up number 3 on google under ‘firstcoastrentals’ first coast rentals dot net comes up before him -what is both your takes on this as i feel if some one types in your domain name you should come up first – as whats to keep some from buying lets say 50 domain names and pointing them all to one site -let say rentvine.net -rentvine.ws -rentvine.asia-rentvine.biz -rentvine.us as thats a lot of domains i would have to buy any pointers at all on this or thoughts as because of this i went back to placing super bowl rentals (event rentals) for super bowl 2009 tampa fl xlII on my site so i can place high again on search engines as i was losing ground ( NOTE i have had offers to sell by a company to use it for the super bowl and turned it down by a group in prosper.com not $80,000 ) -any thoughts -thanks http://www.superhomerentals.com
NOTE when i say a lot of website i would have to buy i mean mine like superhomerentals.biz or superhomerentals.us or net -also should be noted robbies site is firstcoastrentalads.com as i know some of the things i am stating should be done when you first buy a domain name or come up with one – as rentvine is catchy and unheard of and cute as robbies web name and nothing mean is long like mine which some times i feel mine may be too long to remember as robbie has a edge with the local news here ‘firstcoast ” would love to hear ideas and thoughts thanks again -sorry if i spell words wrong i type to fast and hit submit even faster lol THANKS http://www.superhomerentalscom.blogspot.com

The domain brainstorms
When I came up with my domain I really looked hard for something that would compliment my “regional” website in a search. My problem was I was real late to the party!
The TLD’S for my region were gone!
So I just typed my current domain into the little box and Shazam! I bought it!
Most searches with the phrase ” first coast” I rank on the first page (most of the time) Most of the time when users type in “first coast rentals” they are looking for firstcoastrentalsdotcom.
Many times they end up on my site calling me. And I always kindly direct them to his company, Fortunately for me he is one of my “friends” and advertisers also….So it works out for us
All in all when I started with my domain I knew I would have to contend in my market with a “weak” domain name And I have done a very good job at doing it. (Not been easy with Dave on my coattail!)
As for the other domain extensions for my site….No worries….My domain is not a TLD so I have never worried about it.
The super bowl domains should always perform well with correct site structure and marketing.
BTW…There is a little rumer running around my market that I have sold out to another company is false.
One email and two phone calls about it today….I won’t publicly say who it is but I know who you are.
I almost forgot!
