From the rentals.com site:
We are experiencing technical difficulties. You may experience timeout errors or delays while using our web site. We appreciate your patience as our team works to restore the site to the performance level and convenience that you would expect from Rentals.com.
What is odd is that the site appears to be running at its normally slow speed.
My site’s home page takes about 90,000 bytes to load, and Rentals.com takes over 750,000 bytes to load.

Speaking of real estate websites…did MyNewPlace.com launch a new site on Friday?

Yes they did. They launch about the same day I did my redesign.
What do you guys think about the MyNewPlace redesign? It is meant to be less about apartments, and more friendly to single family homes.

Is the new site going to focus on renting single family homes or listing them for sale?
Dave, we did extensive testing of what renters liked, and made an informed decision. The new homepage is not something WE thought renters would like, but what renters showed they liked.
Michelle, we are stictly a rental site. Our old homepage focused on apartments, even though a third of our traffic was looking for single family homes. The new homepage is all encompassing, apartments and homes.
