On the Rental.com site, they make the following claim on their pricing page:
“More Renters: Over 3 million renters visit Rentals.com every month. Why not reach even more with the Network of Sites?”
I don’t have access to their log files, so of course I could be wrong here - but I think that claim is way over- inflated. First of all having all the CSI sites achieving that number each month would be amazing, let alone having just the Rentals.com site do that all by itself.
- RentClicks.com 472,000
- RentalHouses.com 410,000
- HomeRentalAds.com 223,000
- Rentals.com 217,000
- RentList.net 37,000
- RentList.com 30,000
- Other misc sites such as Clevelandrents.com, Georgialandlord.com etc. 10,000
Total = 1,399,000. That is not even half of 3 million as advertised. The numbers above are coming from Compete.com and are for unique visitors. CSI might not be using unique numbers here - so they really might be right if they count every spider that hits their sites.
The reason I use Compete.com is because their numbers are always very close to the unique visitor count I receive personally in my log files for RentVine.com each month.
But when you use the word “renters” - to me that implies a unique visitor for the entire month.
Don’t get me wrong, having 1.4 Million unique visitors is just an amazing number for this niche industry we are in - but I would like to hear from someone at CSI that these numbers are in fact correct.
Again, I do not have access to their log files, so I could be wrong.

The way I read it you will reach “more” than 3 million if you advertise on there “network” of sites.
That is not the way I read it, because they say “Why not reach even more” which to me implies that the 3M is not for the Network.
If you include GoogleBase I am sure Google gets much more than 3M a month.
Dave,
They are throwing Apartmentguide.com in there.
OK, now I see Apartmentguide.com gets 1.8 million unique a month bring that up to 3 million. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
But it still doesn’t add up however, when you read this from there site:
“…Rentals.com can give you access to the Rentals Family of Websites, a powerful new combination of websites including Rentals.com, RentClicks.com, RentalHouses.com and HomeRentalAds.com that attract nearly 3.3 Million visitors each month - proof positive that Rentals.com is quickly becoming one of the most popular online destinations for renters.”
In that statement they are not including Apartmentguide.com.
So I am still confused…
Needs to be updated……Guide goes in…..Rentclicks and Homerentalads are history!
I agree, it’s questionable to include ApartmentGuide.com’s traffic, since buying an ad on Rentals.com does not get your rent house or condo exposure on ApartmentGuide.com.
Jeremy,
I totally agree with you that using ApartmentGuide.com’s traffic is not fair (if that is what they are doing).
Perhaps one of the Rentals.com people can help clarify this issue….
