Well the day finally arrived. If you try to go to RentClicks.com you will be redirected to Rentals.com.
Don’t get me wrong - I am happy about this, but it is a little sad to see the top competitor go away. For the previous owners such as Dave Borden this must be a little frustrating seeing this happen too - they worked on that site so hard for years to see it just vanish.
I gotta think that many people do not know about this yet - if you are new to this site and want to learn more you can start here at this post about RentClicks.com.
The next site to disappear will be HomeRentalAds.com at the end of August.

I’m not sure the top competitor is going away; the top competitor is just changing their name.
Anonymous,
That is true that the top competitor is changing names - and I like that too.
Why? Just think of all that great RentClicks branding that is now gone.
Dave,
The number one organic spot on the number one search engine for the the number one rental market for the search term “orlando homes for rent” is Rentclicks as 0f 7-17-07.
Homerentalads is Fourth. Rentalhouses is fifth. Rentals.com isn’t on the first two pages!
Will be interesting to see what happens here!
I bet there will be some unhappy property managers in Orlando once RentClicks is gone from the search engines in the next few days.
Dave,
Will Rentclicks and Homerentalads go to internet organic search heaven?
If they want to be organic about it, I will recycle their domain by purchasing it from them and using it.
Hate to see Rentclicks and Homerentalads killed off like that! They should of killed Rentalhouses!
How do I place an add??? thanks gina
Gina,
To start placing an ad you start here:

Let me know if you have any questions.
Dave
Gina,
If you want a more cost-effective way to reach renters, go to http://www.rentalhomesplus.com. To save $10 on any ad package, enter promo code - dw06.
It’s good to see you are back Dave. We missed your blogs.
InTheIndustry (RentalHomesPlus employee),
How is your site more cost effective than RentVine? We have the same price, about the same traffic and my ads run 10 days longer than your site does?
Dave,
Based on the pricing published on your site, for $38 a person gets: Basic 40 day ad with non-bold title and shorter description, as well as -
1. Daily statistics and advanced reporting
2. Show off your property with up to 15 photos
3. Automatic email notifications for future tenants
On RentalHomesPlus.com a 30day ad is $39 and you get:
1. Unlimited Photos
2. Toll Free trackable phone number for PM Companies.
3. Weekly/Monthly emailed lead reports with lead breakdown including lead contact info.
4. Link to PM Website in each ad.
5. PM Company Logo in each ad.
6. Maximum exposure on over 150 Websites Nationwide including Apartments.com, Oodle, Google.Base, and many more.
7. Exposure on the major search engines.
8. Superior customer service and sales team.
There is even more, but I will stop there there, as I belive the ‘Cost-Effectiveness’ scale is about ready to tip over.
Any thoughts?
InTheIndustry (you might as well use your real name if you want to be more credible in this debate),
1. Photos (wow, when did you go unlimited?)
2. I don’t have that, but I am thinking about it.
3. Will be adding that in the future
4. Link to PM site (I also have that)
5. PM Company Logo in each ad. (I also have that)
6. You are going to need to list out all 150 for me to believe you.
7. I am beating you there. You are buying your way to the top.
8. I know that you take weekends off.
I think since I am $1 less and the ad duration is 10 days longer makes me the clear winner on value.
[...] I am always interested in what Dave is doing because he used to be an industry leader in the rental market. Kind of odd that he is contacting me with a brand new site on the day that his old site died. [...]
“8. I know that you take weekends off.”
One thing not to forget….Guys like Dave and I never stop….While you guys are off for the weekend..We are looking for ways to beat you!
Robbie and I have small companies but we don’t give up!
Dave,
You said, “That is true that the top competitor is changing names - and I like that too. Why? Just think of all that great RentClicks branding that is now gone.”
You are absolutely right. The whole Rentclicks/Rentalhouses/Rentals thing is comparable to if Coke, Pepsi and “Generic Cola” all came together and Coke changed their name to Generic Cola and left Pepsi alone. Pepsi is still good, but more people liked Coke. And now that Coke is Generic Cola, it doesn’t taste as good either.
It just seems to be a very stupid business move to me.
