I am sure he will do a better job than his predessors! He has done wonders at that place given the total mess he inherited from the RentClicks founders. Congrats Robert!

Dave,

I think Huey was pushed out a few weeks ago. It took Primedia awhile to update their website with Turnbull heading up Rentals.com. They still have Huey listed on some other sections of their site.

Rentalhouses.com still has him on their site also.

Huey had his own equity company that Primedia made him shut down. It is active again at:

http://www.hueyequity.com/about.html

It no longer mentions that he ran Rentals.com

Look for major organizational changes at Rentals by the end of the year!

Primedia hid the problems at Rentals pretty well on their latest quarterly earning report. But they have MAJOR PROBLEMS.

Konarentals is full of Sh**. Rentals is humming and growing still. It is the larger company that is not working.

RN Dumbabee,

I feel sorry for Robert! He has inherited a mess alright but it wasn’t from the Rentclicks founders!

Why do you think Huey is out the door! Why do you think Gallo is gone?

Primedia stock has tanked! Rentals.com is a drain….not a help! Although all their lines of business are hurting….no doubt!

You would have to ask Huey why he left but I bet it had to do with the fact that the dude lives in Louisville and not Atlanta.

I will bet an imaginary beer that if you are right I will drink in your honor (if you are right)

RN,

Huey…didn’t leave! Wake up boy!

Go to Huey’s Equity Company. Does it say anything about him being top dog at Rentals?

Case closed.

It was Hueys choice to leave. He was sick and tired of dealing with the incompetence of fellow Consumer Source contemporaries. Robert Turnbull is a decent guy, but he’s not equipped to handle ownership of a division. This is evidenced by his track record of demotions and lateral moves throughout the company.

Hey Redneck Neverwillbe & TheIllInformedSource:

You are two frogs in a well shaft seeing the sky.

Letting Huey and those idiots from Rentalhouses survive one minute past the first tick of the clock when Rentalhouse was acquired is like watching a mass of mosquitos feeding on your arm and waiting until they have sucked all the life and blood out of you before you stumble across the mental capacity to do something about it.

But Maybe you two are right and Huey did leave on his own free will. Maybe…just maybe…Huey sensed the folks at Primedia were onto his fooey. Maybe his Chris Angle Mindfreak-esque routine passing the blame onto others no longer amused the suits. Maybe he was forced to shut up and put up. Hmmmmm…ya think??? Maybe he looked into that crytsal ball and knew that of the thirty-six strategems, running away is the best.

So I apologize Redneck Nevercouldbe and TheIllInformedSource. Maybe you’re not as mentally unfortunate as you appear to be.

Anyways, its almost Thanksgiving. So Happy Thanksgiving! We all have so much to be thankful for - especially the folks over at Rentals. Business for the competition has never been better! Hey Nevercouldbe and IllInformedSource - try to lay off the dressing and cornbread this year. FARPM is at the beach in ‘08 so please keep that in mind.

TheInformedSource,

Huey’s choice to leave? Why does he avoid the subject in his bio on his Equity site? I believe he was shown the door for his poor results! Rentalhouses was a joke and Metz finally figured that out!

Don’t you just love the anonymity of the Internet? I sure do.

You might have anonymity using the anonymouse.org site while surfing my site. But your writing style gives you away no matter which name you decide to use.

Frank,

Hmmm…sounds a little Quirky to me as well. I’m dumbfounded…really! Just where do you find the time to offer your expert advice and taunting between offering free trials and whining about your markets? Given the performance of your territory, I highly suggest spending more time concentrating on developing your sales and management skills and less time on the vine blogging. Didn’t someone offer that suggestion before? You really should heed their advice before its too late.

Shame on you for saying your boss is not equipped to handle ownership of that division. Given your position, you are an integral piece that makes up a large sum of that division…are you not??? And given the other pieces that are factored into the same equation, it certainly makes for a daunting task. Sure he has a few good elements to work with, but several weak links as well. You are only as good as your weakest link. I have the sneaking suspicion that you may be overly confident on what you represent. Having said that, he is doing the very best he can with what he has been given. If anybody can make the best of a difficult situation, Robert is certainly the person who can accomplish that. There’s a lot of adding and subtracting involved when trying to arrive at the right formula/equation to make things work…catch my drift?

By the way, we know exactly who you are. We don’t need your ip address to figure that out. You are the only one who would ever use “tough guy” and “cute” in the same sentence…and really mean it.

A little background:

I enjoy having everyone post on my blog including my competition (which is very fun for me). It is not my intention to rat out people on this blog.

However, I did ban someone from this blog a long time ago because they kept changing their name to make it look like his opinion was greater that it seemed. Since then that person started using other methods to surf my site so I can’t figure out who he is, so I am not totally certain it is that person I banned.

The Real Bill Quirk said in November 18th, 2007 at 2:56 pm

So anytime someone takes an opposing view on here, it must be me, the real Bill Quirk? Really? I’m the only person in the world that might attempt to defend Rentals and the people who work there? Really? Which is my way of saying that I am not posting on here as Frank Drebin, as the Real Frank Drebin, as TheInformedSource, or with any other alias. I didn’t even get the Frank Drebin reference…had to plug it into Google to figure out that was a character in a movie that I didn’t like. When those posts went up, I was hard at work manning the Rentals.com booth at NAR in Las Vegas. And if I were posting, I’d take the time to correct the mistakes on here. We didn’t run TV commercials this year, it was radio. And you may want to double-check the rankings for that Dallas Google search.

Have I posted on here in the past? Yes. But I haven’t posted in a long time and it’s not because of any corporate directive. Hate filled threads like this one are precisely why I don’t post on here. How do posts like this contribute to the rental advertising industry? What is valuable about posts from people who are out to bash their former company, bash the people they used to work with, bash people who they have never even met, and bash their former industry? Why is it if Dave posts valuable topics (I really enjoy some of them) like what’s happening with the market in Albuquerque, or about a new entry into the industry, or about anything other than Rentals.com then you guys have absolutely nothing to say? Instead, the most active topics on here revolve around bashing Rentals.com, bashing the people who work there or used to work there, and in some cases bashing property managers and NARPM.

And guys…we get it. You hate us, you celebrate when our company encounters a difficulty or has problems, you like to use wordplay to make fun of our names, you like to spread lies to make things seem bad for us, and I’m sure if you learned of someone from our company dying or falling seriously ill that it would make you happy. We get it.

And if you guys want to spend your days hating us and rooting for our failure, that’s absolutely fine with me. I don’t understand it, but I also don’t understand people who stalk their exes. And I don’t understand how our having a problem improves your lives. I respect Frank and others for trying, but when anyone tries to post on here to defend our company and people, it just fires you guys up to post even more hate filled attacks. And that’s why I don’t post. So, I don’t know who our defenders are but thanks for trying and I’m sorry for when the guys on here try to give me credit for what you are writing.

Bill,

Thanks for reading my blog and joining in on the conversation plus using your real name (most of my competitors don’t use their real name so I applaud you for that)!

I enjoyed reading all your comments.

I just checked and I am beating you in Dallas again. :)
