Hi. I just came across your blog today and have had a similar experience. I managed to keep the link to my site active on Google after a lengthy discussion with some wikinazis. Soon competitors found my link and added theirs, and the wikinazis decided to remove all of the links.

It appears that linking to a free/open source document on a commercial website is against the rules regardless of the quality of information.

Hi Dave,

I had three wiki links to my Hawaii Real estate sites beach pages http://www.adrhi.com/waikiki-beach.asp, http://www.adrhi.com/kailua-beach.asp and http://www.adrhi.com/koolina-lagoons.asp. They were up there since last October and I went and tried to ad more to other areas and the Wiki editors removed them all. I should have left well enogh alone and I would have still probably had them. Lesson learned is not to be greedy!

I was able to sneak one link in on Wiki for a friend on a very odd niche. It has not been been touched and we noticed a nice pop in the rankings after it was added.
