The above is from a spreadsheet that I use to keep track of my competition. Since I can’t afford the $35K a year for more accurate results (Comscore or HitWise like my top competitors use), I use these sites listed above because they are free.
These sites measure traffic in different ways, that is why you see numbers going up and down. Basically the higher on the list the better the site is doing. As you can see I rank #8. I am not showing sites that I don’t consider direct competition – an example of this would be apartments.com since that site has a slightly different focus.
No surprise to see RentClicks #1 across the board. You will notice I placed Alexa.com in last because I have little confidence in its numbers because many people try to game it.
I think Quantcast.com has the most accurate numbers, that is why I placed it first and put the most weight in it for my rankings.
The biggest surprise lately is House.info. Where did this free site come from? They (I think it is one guy) are really kicking and might make one of my predictions come true this year.
Also, I gotta say I am surprised that Rentals has picked up some speed of late.
I hope to move up a few spots by the end of the year.

Thanks for the information. I list on 11 of the 13 sites you talk about and will be adding House.info to make it 12 out of 13. The one thing I don’t like about House.info is all of the GoogleAds. I’m sure that is how they make their money to allow for the site to be free. But since RentMarketer is posting there, they must see it as up and coming – at least for the right now.
