Occasionally, I will get an email that goes pretty much like this…
“I need help! Looking for a house rental in Sacramento.”
Since I might not have a large amount of listings in Sacramento (if any at all), I can understand their frustration and would like to help out.
I have no problem recommending a competing site.
Most of the time, I refer them to RentClicks for the following reasons:
- RentClicks has the best user interface of my competitors,
- RentClicks makes it easy to find listing fast,
- Much of the time, RentClicks will have the most listings,
- RentClicks typically has the largest photo size in their ads.
Who knows– maybe if I give people good advise, they will come back to my site next time when I have more listings.

Dave - What you say is so true. If you help them now, they will remember that in the future and will come back. I am a firm believer in that and have had many owners and residents come back to me after several years to see if I am able to help them at the present time because they received information from me before and were not ignored.
