Zillow.com is pulling Vanessa Fox away from Google. This should give Zillow an unfair advantage over other Real Estate sites from an SEO view point.
I like Zillow a lot and what it stands for, but they need to fix their data feed from the government websites when it comes to the square footage data - it is old and out-dated.
Sorry to see her go, though. I am guessing we might see Matt Cutts leave Google as well in the near future and then “us webmasters” will have nobody to talk to.
Matt Cutts keeps telling us that there are many Googlers that can answer our questions and help webmasters - but besides Brian White and Adam Lasnik, I am just not seeing it.
For example at SMX Advanced, I went up to the Google booth and asked when Vanessa Fox would be there so I could ask her a question. The person at the booth (from Google, presumably) had never heard of her before.
Update: If you listen to Danny Sullivan’s show today he pretty much address my post about the duplication content “summit” without saying my name (about 40 minutes in to the show). Danny if you are reading this, I will totally give you credit if that summit makes Google and others in 6-9 months to create a tool that allows us to see your own duplicate content - however it might be hard with Vanessa gone now. ![]()

thanks for visiting wealthbuildinglessons.com
Like any automated service, Zillow is only as good as the data sets used to generate the zestimates. If an “informed” buyer for your house is using ONLY Zillow as the information source for their house purchasing decision then it’s likely that you don’t want to be dealing with that buyer anyway…
