Prescott is not a very large town, population a little over 40,770 (2005). However the area has seen some good growth in the past 5 years. Prescott is at 5,354' in altitude located in the Bradshaw Mountains with 4 seasons. The crime rate is one of the lowest per capita in Arizona.

It appears the most of the housing growth is happening in the city's rural periphery. Fast commuting distances and relatively cheap land and housing is driving this growth. Prescott is found to be a nice place to retire with many historic victorian homes.
