Is it totally free?
Yes it's FREE! No hidden fees, no extra charges, no strings attached, no monthly subscription, put your credit card away (you get the idea - its FREE). We provide mapVine as a service in conjunction with our paid listing services on RentVine. You do not have to have a listing on RentVine to use mapVine. You don't even have to use it to list properties for rent or sale. It is a service that can be used by anyone needing a mapping tool on their web site.

Why is it free?
Good question! If you have come to this page you probably want to know the motivation behind this tool. The hope is that you will find value in this tool and maybe hang around and glance at the RentVine portion of this site. The important thing to remember is you do not have to pay for a listing to use this free tool. If you like it, please tell others about it.

Do I have to purchase a paid listing on RentVine to use this tool?
No.

Will you ever charge for this tool?
No.

Will this tool ever expire?

What does mapVine do?
mapVine is a tool that allows you to place an interactive map on your site easily without having to know complicated coding. See an example in action here.

Is there a limit to how many properties I can display on my map?
We recommend you not place more than 50 properties on a map because it will create a slow loading map which will detract from your visitor's experience on your site. However, we have learned of new clustering technology that may allow for an unlimited number of properties without any performance issues. We'll keep you posted through this site.

If I already have a RentVine account, do I need a new one for mapVine?
No. Accounts are shared between RentVine and mapVine.

Can this tool be used for metro areas outside the United States?
No. Not at this time. We have received requests for maps in the UK and Canada and we are looking at those requests to see what that involves.

Can I have maps for more than one metro area?
Yes. If you create multiple accounts (e.g. one for each metro area). With a single account you can only have one map.

How do I integrate the mapVine into my web page?
We provide a block of HTML that you can paste anywhere within your own web site code. Simply copy the HTML code and paste where you'd like. Watch a demonstration on how to integrate mapVine into your site.

If I already have paid listings on RentVine, can I easily import them into the mapping tool?
Not at this time, but we are working on this feature. We expect to have this done in our next release. For now, you will have to enter each property individually.

I have been using mapVine for a while and I now want to try RentVine, can I export my mapVine properties to RentVine?
While this is a great idea, sorry we can't do this because we allow mapVine to be used for non-real estate purposes. You will need to enter each property individually into RentVine.

Can you suggest any best practices for mapVine?
Place the map on your home page, this provides another way for your visitors to navigate your site.
Place your map high on your page. Until mapVine fully loads the visitor will not be able to scroll down, by placing at top then your visitor can read the top.
Don't place too many mapVine maps on one page. I have seen 6 used on one page and the page loads very slow.

If I don't like mapVine after giving it a try, how can I take it off my site?
Simply delete the code you copy and pasted when you created the map. It is that easy.
