Rentvine has a new CEO. Nat Kunes is stepping into the role, and Dave Borden, the founder who built Rentvine, isn't stepping away. He will remain as Founder and on the board, where he'll work with Nat on strategy and spend more time doing what he loves most: time with Rentvine's customers.
This wasn't a change forced on Dave. He initiated it himself. "There was no one looking to replace me, and I wasn't looking to leave," he said. "Nat joined Rentvine six months ago as an advisor, and his impact on the team's toughest challenges became clear almost overnight. The more the two worked together, the more obvious it became that CEO was the right seat for him."
Why now
With his over 15 year track record in property management software, Nat has watched this industry go through platform shifts before: on-premise software to web, then web to mobile. He believes property management is at the start of the next one, AI and agentic workflows, and he thinks Rentvine already has the biggest lead in the space.
"This is a moment in time that I think is going to be transformational for property management," Nat said. "Being able to have a software like Rentvine that's truly AI friendly, truly agentic, that can help lead our customers’ businesses to that next level is what really got me most excited about joining the company."
Dave put the stakes plainly: "AI is not going to replace property managers, but property managers that use AI, specifically Rentvine, are going to pass their competitors who do not."
On the road together
Both of them will be on the road together starting this fall. You can catch Nat and Dave in person at the NARPM National Trade Show in Las Vegas this October. Stop by the booth to say hi, and keep an eye out for a few dinner invites along the way.
