What’s new in system customization
1. Generate API keys directly inside Rentvine
Rentvine provides API access through Global Settings under User Roles and API. From there, you can generate a new API key for a specific user. Each key can be labeled clearly so you know what it is being used for.
When creating the key, you assign it a role. Think of it like adding another user to your system. If you want to limit access to certain data, you can assign a restricted role. If you want full system access, you can assign the admin role.
Once saved, Rentvine generates both an API key and API secret. These credentials allow the connected system to securely interact with your Rentvine environment.
2. Control access and permissions
One of the most powerful aspects of the Rentvine API is permission control. Because API keys are tied to roles, you can decide exactly what level of access a third party receives.
You can update the key name, change the assigned role, regenerate the secret, associate it with a pod if your account uses pods, or delete the key entirely. This keeps your system secure while allowing customization.
3. Build custom integrations
The Rentvine API is fully open and included in your subscription. There are no usage restrictions or additional charges for access.
This means you can:
Extract data to build your own dashboard outside of Rentvine
Upload information such as receipts in bulk
Connect third party software directly to your account
Automate reporting and tracking workflows
Anything you see inside Rentvine is accessible through the API. That level of openness allows property management companies to build workflows that match their exact business model.
Why it matters
Many property management platforms restrict API access or charge additional fees for it. Rentvine does not.
With a fully open API, your team can innovate, integrate, and customize without limitations. Whether you are working with a third party developer or building internal tools, Rentvine gives you the access needed to scale.

Rentvine team, how are we doing today? We have another video of Rentvine Academy and today we are going over APIs.
An API stands for Application Programming Interface. Within Rentvine, you can generate a user specific API key that allows access to the system.
Navigate to Settings, then User Roles and API. From there, you can create a new API key. Label it, assign a role, and save it. Once created, Rentvine generates an API key and secret that you can provide to your developer or integration partner.
You can edit the key, update the secret, assign pods if applicable, or delete the key at any time.
The Rentvine API is fully open and included with your subscription. You can extract data, upload information in bulk, and integrate third party systems without restrictions.
