About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to play a key role in our month-end close process, revenue accounting, and overall accounting operations.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and enjoys both hands-on accounting and building structure within evolving processes. The Senior Accountant will support accurate and timely financial reporting, review transactional activity prepared by staff accountants, coordinate sales tax compliance processes, assist with revenue stream management, and help strengthen documentation and internal controls.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial statements while helping build scalable accounting infrastructure as the company continues to grow.
What you'll do
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Drive and support month-end close procedures, including preparation and review of journal entries
- Coordinate close activities with accounting staff to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Analyze fluctuations and variances to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded in NetSuite in accordance with GAAP
- Support preparation of financial reporting packages and management analysis
Revenue & Subscription Accounting
- Maintain revenue recognition schedules across multiple product and service lines in accordance with ASC 606
- Reconcile billing system data to NetSuite and investigate discrepancies
- Assist in reviewing customer contracts for accounting implications
- Support documentation of revenue recognition policies and procedures
Sales Tax & Compliance Coordination
- Coordinate sales tax filings and compliance processes with third-party tax software providers
- Review sales tax reports and ensure completeness and accuracy of data
- Support multi-state compliance requirements and related documentation
- Assist with audit support and other regulatory filings as needed
Audit, Controls & Documentation
- Prepare audit-ready schedules and serve as primary support contact for assigned audit areas
- Manage PBC requests and coordinate responses with internal team members
- Draft and maintain accounting memos for significant accounting positions
- Develop and formalize accounting policies and standard operating procedures
- Create and maintain close documentation and supporting workpaper standards
- Strengthen internal control processes as the company scales
Contract & Document Management
- Establish and maintain a centralized repository for vendor contracts and key accounting documents
- Ensure contracts are organized, accessible, and aligned with accounting records
- Assist in reviewing vendor agreements for accounting implications
- Improve documentation retention practices to support audit readiness
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support
- Identify opportunities to improve close processes, documentation, and scalability
- Assist in refining procedures to enhance efficiency and automation
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, FP&A, and other teams to resolve accounting-related questions
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes
- Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations
- Experience supporting external audits
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong documentation capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license or CPA candidate
- Public accounting experience
- Experience working in NetSuite
- Experience in a SaaS or high-growth company environment
- Exposure to revenue recognition under ASC 606
- Experience drafting accounting memos or policy documentation
- Experience working with sales tax compliance processes
